Before starting this unit, you might want to check that children can recall from RSE & PSHE, Year 4, Safety and the changing body:

  • That age restrictions are designed to protect us.

  • The benefits and risks of sharing material online.

  • How to help someone with asthma.

  • What is meant by 'privacy'.

  • The difference between secrets and surprises.

  • That not all information on search engines is valuable or reliable.

  • That change is a part of growing up.

  • The physical differences between children and adults.

  • The risks of smoking and the benefits of being a non-smoker.
