Support and challenge

Adults can use the opportunity to:

  • Share the Resource: Minibeast photos before the lesson to learn the names of unfamiliar minibeasts and describe some simple body parts, such as head, wings and legs.
  • Look at small world insects with the children, providing them with tangible objects to explore and compare.
  • Encourage the pupils to draw where they found different minibeasts (e.g. drawing a log with a woodlouse underneath and a ladybird in the grass).
  • Encourage the pupils to count the number of different minibeasts found.
