Support and challenge
Adults can use the opportunity to:
- Use a butterfly life cycle story sack or miniature figurines to illustrate each stage of the butterfly’s life cycle visually. Encourage the children to arrange the stages in the correct order.
- Provide magnifying glasses and encourage the pupils to observe and identify more subtle signs of spring, such as noticing differences in tree buds or specific types of insects.
- Challenge the children to add their own creative ideas to the butterfly dance, such as adding a transition to show how a butterfly could break free from its chrysalis.
