Could be given fifteen to twenty pre-cut cards from the Resource: My pet cards to sort and create a physical block chart on the desk for task one; could draw and label their pet along with necessary items like food, water, bed and toys for task two.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should compare the two data collection methods used in the lesson (connecting cubes and tally marks) and provide reasoning for their choice of the most efficient method; should be given the Knowledge organiser and use this to include key vocabulary (e.g. carnivore, mammal, fur, etc.) in their letters for task two.
