Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Could have the Activity: Plant diary printed in A3; could use base ten (a ten stick) to measure the height of their plants; could present a short video or use an audio device to describe how their plant has grown instead of completing the Activity: My plant diary.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should take on the role of narrator in the drama activity and use the Resource: Rose’s ray of sunshine: teacher version; could improvise additional information when reading the story for the drama activity (e.g. the two seeds contained a store of energy that they used to germinate and rabbits are herbivores); could record plant measurements in centimetres and millimetres when completing page two of their plant diaries.
