Pupils needing extra support
Could use the Activity: Poo clue results table (support) if they have difficulty recording in their own design; could use the Activity: Poo clue letter (support) as a writing frame for the letter to Steve Backshall at the end of the Main event; could refer to the Knowledge organiser to provide support with key vocabulary and concepts.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should independently construct a results table with suitable headings that can be used to record multiple observations and draw conclusions; should apply knowledge and vocabulary from the whole unit to their descriptions and justifications of opinions; could be challenged to consider the limitations of using faeces as evidence; could choose an extension activity from the Resource: Stretch and challenge: Digestion and food.
