Could be provided with the Knowledge organiser and directed to the third section, which explains pitch; could use the Resource: Making musical instruments (support) to help them create their instruments; could use the Presentation: Designing a table to help them draw their table. 

Pupils working at greater depth

Should add an extra column to their data table and record the different volumes of their musical instrument; should compare pitch and volume and draw sound waves for each to explain the differences; could choose an extension activity relating to pitch from the Resource: Stretch and challenge: Sound and vibrations.
