Could read their role-play scripts aloud when performing; could take the role of the customer rather than the waiter.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should memorise their lines when performing their role plays; should support their partners if they get stuck or go wrong, for example, by prompting them with the correct words, asking them a question again or using gestures and, in this way, simulating a real-life conversation with a native speaker.
