Recap and recall

Display the Presentation: The verb ir – to go. Invite the children to predict which of the words in the word bank will fill the gaps in each dialogue. Ask the children to explain their reasoning, such as pointing out that verbs ending in ‘s’ are usually in the second person.

Adaptive teaching

Pupils needing extra support

Should use the Activity: Future plans: support version, which provides the sentence starters on the sheet; could use the Knowledge organiser to support their writing.

Pupils working at greater depth

Should write up their future plans during the Main event in the style of a postcard like those encountered in the Attention grabber using the correct postcard-writing conventions; could use a Spanish-English bilingual dictionary to source additional vocabulary during the Main event.
