Adaptive teaching
Pupils needing extra support
Should use the Activity: La carta: support version which provides them with a completed word bank, allowing them time to pre-read the questions and possible answers they will hear in the listening activity; could listen to each conversation in the Main event more than once to ensure they have understood the spoken language.
Pupils working at greater depth
Should deduce the meaning of the conversations without needing to look at the transcript; should improvise their own versions of the conversations using the Activity: La carta and the transcripts on slide 3 of the Presentation: Café conversations to support them.
