Alice is a history graduate and former primary school teacher with a background in the editorial department of a major book publisher and as a self-employed fine furniture maker. During her ten years teaching in rural South Devon, Alice served as the History subject leader and was actively involved in reading fluency projects, advocating for reading for pleasure.

In her free time, Alice enjoys spending time with her family, preferably on the water or walking on Dartmoor with her wire fox terrier. More often than not, she can be found watching her teenage twins play hockey.
