This alternative theme provides an idea to create a stuffed Easter egg based on our Year 5: Textiles: Stuffed toys unit.

Our stuffed Easter egg template uses a blanket stitch to secure the main pieces together before stuffing and using a running stitch to add appliqué letters and details.

You will need:

Felt sheets (assorted colours)
Scrap fabric materials (optional – but would provide alternatives to felt for appliqué)
Scissors
PVA glue
Safety pins
Childrens’ sewing needles and thread
Buttons (or other decorative items)
Stuffing material (e.g. cotton wool)
Fabric pens
